Guest Blogging
A Top Strategy For Women To Leverage Their Brand, Give Back, And Co-Create A New World Together!
Let’s face it – if you are going to get yourself out there, you are going to have to be willing to be uncomfortable along the way. I say that because often I hear the fears come up when women entrepreneurs are at the stage in their business when it’s time to start Guest Blogging!
Let me start by sharing with you that it’s FUN! It’s a great way to increase your exposure and meet a new audience of readers. Plus, other bloggers appreciate finding targeted guest bloggers. It gives them a break in writing and brings a variety to their content. And you get a lot in return for giving away your knowledge.
Benefits to you of Guest Blogging!
- Brand exposure
- Increase your blog traffic
- Building a bloggers network
- High quality one way back links
Those are just a few advantages! To give you an idea, if you write for a good blog, you can experience thousands of people hitting your blog in a matter of a few days. Like I said, I had a client last year get picked up by In Style Magazine from of a guest post that she did on another blogger's site. Today she's over her fears around money, fame and fortune. I predict she'll be pushing 7 figures in her company relatively soon.
Here’s my suggestion when writing a guest post.
Keep your joint venture blogger in mind. In other words, don’t focus on you and what you're going to get because that will sabotage the quality of your writing. To further clarify, don't sell all over your guest post. In fact, keep your intentions on pleasing the person who owns the blog you are writing for. Serve their clientele what they need!
Read through some of their other posts to get a good feel for what their audience is consuming. As you do that, make a note of headlines that resemble what you are going write about because you’ll use them later.
Detect which blog posts are getting an overwhelming response of comments. That’s a good indicator that subject is hot with their reader.
Here’s what to do next.
Take your research and write a blog that either takes a popular blog deeper or gives a new perspective. Reference other blogs within the blog so that the reader stays on your joint ventures blogger's site. They’ll love that!
Be sure and ask for feedback at the end of your guest post and don’t forget to add a "P.S." at the bottom of your blog. It’s the second most read section of an article, with the headline being number one.
My suggestion is to use the P.S. as a way to drive home a strong message to the reader.
Where to find sites that accept guest bloggers.
You can use the website "My Blog Guest" to find blogs looking for guest posts. While we are new on this site, it looks promising. It’s worth your time to explore and master!
My favorite way to find guest posting opportunities is to use my trusty
FREE tool Google.
Type into the search bar in google “submit a guest post” and you will see a lot of sites come up with opportunities for submitting articles. Make sure you use the “ " around the guest post phrase to get an accurate list.
However if you want to get specific in your NICHE, here’s a better way.
Type into the search bar of google “Guest Posts” + [your niche]
Examples To Type Into Google:
“Submit a guest post” + business
“guest blogging” + horses
“submit a guest post” + healer
I hope this helped you to get started. We cover a lot of this type of training in video through our Inner Circle. However, you should be able to get started and get posting with the information above.

Thank you Shanda for all the wonderful information and sharing your wisdom!
Thank you!!!!
Thank you for this post! I have been thinking about guest blogging and other bloggers has asked me to become a guest blogger on their site but I’ve been a little nervous about it. You have just encouraged me to go for it! I love the tips as well.
Thanks again.

Great article. I would add one suggestion: always write original material for a guest post. Don’t reuse articles that are already published elsewhere (even on your own site) or republish your guest post later elsewhere. Google doesn’t like duplicate content so make sure both you and your blogger partner receive the most search engine traffic by publishing each article you write only once.
It does take a bit more time and effort to write original pieces *every* time, but that effort is worth it.
This is true Lesa – and it takes time to do anything worth doing in your business doesn’t it? Thanks for adding this important point!
Thank you, Shanda, for this great information! I am saving this in my Instapaper so that I can reference it often.
Glad to be of service — Shanda
Fabulous article, great idea, very inspiring – and I am starting to submit right now! Thank you as always – Astra
I like the idea of linking to other posts on their site. I never would have thought of that.
You will look like a pro when you do that and the owner of the site will appreciate you for thinking of them first.
